🟢 BuyingYou pay the current price to own shares. From that point on, your position's value moves with the stock, up when it rises, down when it falls. You only make or lose money for real once you sell.

🔴 SellingYou give up your shares at the current price and get cash back. This "closes" the position (or part of it) and locks in whatever gain or loss you had at that moment, it stops moving with the stock after that.

🛑 Stop-lossA standing order to auto-sell if the price drops to a level you set. It caps how much you can lose on a position without you having to watch it, set one below your buy price to protect against a bigger fall.
